Do you want to learn some new tech skills in a supportive environment? Join us for funded workshops for women with artist and technologist Laura Trevail, who created our interactive Campfires from the Greenham Women Everywhere archive.
In these practical workshops, we’ll show you the basics of learning new tech skills with the free, open-source software Twine, how to adapt Twine to a range of creative outputs, and how to create opportunities for remote and blended paid work.
You do not need to be “techy” to do these workshops; this is a safe, welcoming way in to a world that can feel like it has a pretty high barrier to entry. Let us help you cut that fence! All you need is access to the internet, a computer, and familiarity using it for everyday tasks (visiting websites, storing and accessing things like documents or photos, using email, having Zoom or Skype calls).
Twine is browser-based, and suitable for beginners. You will not need to install anything on your device.
The workshops will be hosted on Zoom on Wednesdays 18th & 25th May from 10am – 12.30pm. To get the most from this training you will need to come along to both sessions.
These are taster sessions and we are fundraising to support more in-depth paid training opportunities with Laura, so those who enjoy working with Twine can create their own activist-inspired discussions and campfire!
