For the Peace Museum‘s first temporary exhibition, they have been working with artist Lakhbir Sangha to create a series of four artworks inspired by the question: What does peace mean to you? Since opening in August, the first two artworks in this series have been on display.

The first is an interactive artwork which invites visitors to share their responses to what peace means to them. These answers have been written onto fabric scrolls and placed within a 3-D resin outline of the Bradford district for other visitors to read.

The second artwork ‘Going Green’ is a hand-knitted dress sculpture inspired by our relationship with nature. The work aims to provide a commentary on the complex relationship between us and our planet, along with the social and cultural aspects of climate change. It highlights the pressing need to consider and respond to the ongoing eco-crisis and safeguard future generations.

From Thursday 5th December, visitors will be able to see the final two new artworks that Lakhbir has been working on over the last few months. These artworks will both be inspired by and a response to visitors’ answers to the question: What does peace mean to you?

This exhibition will run into 2025.
