We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded funding by the National Lottery Community Fund to work with partners across Cornwall including The Women’s Centre Cornwall and Into Bodmin to deliver support to their service users who have experienced violence and abuse during lockdown.
Activities will include 3-5 mile country hikes with activities led by specialist practitioners focussing on positive relationship building, meditation, conflict resolution, assertiveness, singing, peer support and building confidence and self-esteem, enabling members to develop the skills they need to build and maintain positive emotional well-being and mental health, build personal support networks and positive relationships with peers and professionals and to develop the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to make meaningful and sustained changes in their confidence, esteem and sense of self-worth.
In 2021 we collaborated with Women’s Centre Cornwall to deliver a Youth Music funded programme of workshops focussed on activism through music. Our most recent work with Into Bodmin focussed on the Greenham Women Everywhere archive – we were delighted to be joined by local Greenham Women who shared their experiences with the group.
We are grateful to all the women from our partner organisations who told us what they needed and wanted from a local support project and to the support from National Lottery Community Fund.
